Bowes Street, Queenstown


Named after a battle in the Boer War, climb this short but steep walkway to enjoy fantastic 360 degree views of Queenstown.

With some mining and heritage exhibits along the way and interpretation information at the top to help you learn the names of key landmarks, Spion Kop can help you truly appreciate Queenstown.

The walk is 300m (return) , taking approximately 15 minutes (but allow longer so you take in the views),  and is not suitable for those with mobility issues.  The walk is paved with a handrail but is steep. includes some steps and an incline.  Sturdy footwear is recommended, as is clothes suitable to the day.

There is a free parking area at the top of Bowes Street - or extend the walk by parking in town.
